Elin Skorup

                   


Described by Expressen as a singer with "magnetic stage presence", and by Baroquiades.com as possessing a soprano with “les couleurs cristallines”, Elin Skorup has established herself as one of Sweden’s most sought after specialists in oratorio, opera, and lieder, performing throughout her homeland, and across Europe.


Future and recent engagements includes the role of Norina in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Valencienne in Léhar's The Merry Widow in Malmö and Proserpine in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo in Gothenburg. Also the soprano parts in Mozarts Requiem at Stockholm Concert hall and S. Garrop's oratorio Terra Nostra with Helsingborg symphony orchestra and conductor Mei-Ann Chen. Elin Skorup has also made her debut as the Secretary in the newly written Siblings of Mantua at the ancient Drottningholm Court Theater.


As a concert soprano, Elin has, during the past seasons, been soloist in the Mozart Requiem with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, has sung in J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble, has performed Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Gävle Symphony Orchestra as well as the Mozart C-Minor Mass with both the Nordic Chamber Orchestra under Ragnar Bohlin and at the Palacio de Festivales in Cantabria, Spain. She also performed at the Ton Koopman Itinéraire Baroque Festival in Périgord, France.


Elin appeared as a soloist with Gävle Symphony Orchestra singing Brahms under Spanish conductor Jaime Martin. This project was released on Ondine Records in november 2017 as Brahms, Song of Destiny, with Elin’s singing being acclaimed by ForumOpéra.com: ”Worth to be mentioned, in the only number selected from opus 65, the soloist, Elin Skorup, with a beutiful soprano, translates the text remarkably singing Nagen am Herzen fühl ich.


Elin Skorup received her education from the University college of Opera in Stockholm (2019) and Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm (2009), and has received scholarships from the ”Friends of Drottningholm theater” in 2020 as well as ”Folkoperans Encouragement Scholarship” 2016.


Since 2015 Elin works regularly and intense with vocal coach and professor

Lena Hellström Färnlöf and at the moment they are preparing the roles of Valencienne and Nanetta (Verdi Falstaff).
